History of Thailand |
|
|
Like the culture, the history of Thailand is also equally glorious. Around 10th century AD, the Thais migrated from southern China which was the original home of the Thais. With the invasion of the Thai the rise of the Ayutthaya and the Sukhothai kingdom began. Prior to that the states were continuously invaded by the neighbouring countries of Vietnam, Khmer and Burma, the present day Myanmar. However one of the most important aspects in the history of Thailand is that Thailand never faced a colonial rule and is supposed to be the only southeastern Asian country to do so. However Thailand underwent a 60 years of military rule before attaining the status of democratic rule in the country.
